Hello dear one,
I hope you had a good New Year’s Eve and you are not too hungover right now ;-)
I feel fresh and fruity, right after recording last night’s ChaChaChat I fell asleep and once again, as I do every year, I slept through most of the noise of the celebrations and fireworks.
We all seem to be reflecting and projecting at the moment. There is a sense of urgency in the air. We are rearing to go and chance in 2019. But is it okay to just be okay with what is at this moment? Can we just be here now? We only have control of how we show up in the present.
So no I am not writing you now talking about how to set goals, how to plan, how to detox, or how to change anything. Right now I invite you to be here and to stay present from now on. Direct your focus and attention. Slow down.
This is a strange time. I seem to be the only one awake, it is so so quiet here, especially after all the hullabaloo of last night. I love it, it feels magical. But also amid the racket we are invited to stay present and pause. As where you are right now is perfect. It may not feel that way, but please know that life is unfolding just as it should be. The magic of the moment is perfectly imperfect and you are invited to embrace this, to bless this and to hug a little harder. Love a little harder. All is well…right now.
My 2019 year ahead tarot reading
And it feels now the perfect time to share with you my own personal year ahead tarot reading.
Every year I offer to do these for other people, but I also do one for myself every year. Now tarot is a practice I use daily, but these year ahead spreads are special as they give such a clear insight on where to focus on the coming year and gives a head’s up for what’s coming. Now tarot is not a tool with which you predict the future, but it does show which energies are at work and how to best deal with them. It empowers you to move through the year with ease and grace even if cards show up that may seem very challenging. Now you come prepared and can take appropriate action.
At the beginning of the year we start of fresh and we generally are feeling excited about the future, and a tarot reading helps to catch that momentum so you are reminded of this throughout the year.
This is my personal reading (apologies about the dark pictures, when you order a reading from me I use more light for the photographs, these were taken with candlelight only)
What is surrounding me right now?
The Moon tells me that all is not what it seems and that I am dealing with emotions from the past, painful memories are having an effect on my conscious and subconscious. And yes this is true. These days, Christmas, New Year’s, make me feel alone and not lovable enough. It feels like the world is partying and I haven’t been invited. Now I know this is not true, but deep down this is how it feels. I always say that life is a party but we have to hang the decorations ourselves. So that is what I do, I stay cheerful and keep ploughing through. But yes to be honest I am feeling a bit down. Also these days remind me of my Mother. We used to celebrate together and Christmas is also the first time I noticed her illness. I remember going to the cinema with her on Christmas and she was coughing so badly. I made her go see a doctor straight away in January, and that is when we found out that she had Cancer. Now that coming year was to be her last Christmas and it was painful. She so much wanted to enjoy it, because she so so loved Christmas, but she just couldn’t. She was so sick and so nauseas that had to sleep through most of Christmas. To see her in pain was heartbreaking. Thankfully her pain didn’t last long as she past over in January. So these months always remind me of her and her pain, but also of her love for Christmas, and that is why I celebrate and hold her tight still every Christmas. I am crying now, and it feels good, I have been keeping a brave face for so long, but it still hurts. So yes dear Moon I am pushing pain away.
The Moon also suggest that things are not what they seem (this always reminds me of Twin Peaks Log Lady)
So the Moon warns me against making rash decisions and asks me to pay extra close attention to my intuition, feel rather than think. I am having very vivid dreams (always do, but now I can hardly tell the difference between dream and reality, that vivid and I remember everything!) and this card asks me to tap into this higher level of understanding.
The Moon invites me to connect to the Divine feminine and attune to the lunar cycles using ritual. Now this is exactly what I have been doing so yes this card perfectly tells where I am at right now.
King of Cups is the second card corresponding to where I am at right now. This King has a strong heart and reflect the light to others. And I hope that is how I am showing up. This also refers to the above. I feel I am more and more gaining mastery over my emotions. I wrote above that I am pushing away my pain, but not really. I do talk about my pain and express it, I just don’t let my emotions overrule me. So this is what this King is telling me. I am mature and stable enough to keep going and approach my pain well balanced. No drama. I do notice that I can learn from this King his sense of compassion, because my tolerance for drama and self centeredness is quite low at the moment.
The King of Cups also is perfect for my 2019 intentions of finding a balance between my own goals and objectives and making sure everyone else is happy. So a balance of logic and emotion.
And the Six of Wands is about triumph and victory. And yes I do feel so much more self-assured and successful than last year. And perhaps that is because I redefined success for myself. For me it is not about the money I make or the amount of subscribers I have, it is how I show up and serve. In my day job I am doing well and it finally being recognized. I have received so many compliments and so much gratitude in the past year that I feel I am not giving my energy for nothing. I feel appreciated and seen. Now this card isn’t the finish line, there is still a way to go, but this card tells me I am heading in the right direction and I am supported.
So yes these cards very well describe where I am at right now. Isn’t the tarot awesome?!
What is leaving at the end of this year?
What has brought me here and is now losing significance, but also what wisdom and insights I may choose to bring with me into the new year?
Ten of Cups speaks of homely joy and contentment. It is the happy family card. Now I am not sure I want to leave that behind, but yes the past year saw a reconnection with family. I am in contact with my brother, I have a renewed connection with my cousin, I visited my aunt and uncle in Italy who I hadn’t seen for a long time and I am still in regular contact with my aunt in France. Also I see aunts and uncles quite regularly and I feel welcome. Something I haven’t always felt within the family dynamics. So a lot of healing for me has been done here in the past year(s). Finding my renewed place in the family. And not feeling the weight of my parents, but taking the place as myself, not a stand in for others.
Also I rekindled my love for my home. I spend a lot of time at home, just being and I loved it, but I also feel I need to find a better balance in 2019 between being social and being at home. So yes this card makes sense.
Page of Cups signifies that indeed 2018 was a year full of opportunity and creative energy. I was invited to explore new parts of myself and to express my self in a way that is more me, more authentic and free. I am much more listening to my intuition and acting upon it. I am living more from a place of magic and wonder and feel anything is possible. My life is filled with synchronicity it is wonderful, funny and scary at the same time.
What is coming into my life?
The Creatrix (The Magician) and this is perfect as it one of the tarot cards I picked to represent my intentions for 2019! A focused flow of creative energy in order to manifest on a physical plane. Now I am delving into magic more deeply in 2019 and this is all about focused attention. This card calls me to take inspired action. Get clear on what I want and especially why and I can create miracles, you will see! Joy in creation, oh yes baby!
The second card is the Queen of Pentacles. Now she is the ruler through mastery of physical creation and manifestation. Now how perfect is that that these two cards show up for me in this reading, together representing my opportunities in 2019. How clear is that?! I just love the tarot, amazing. This Queen asks me to maintain a compassionate, nurturing, practical and down-to-earth attitude when dealing with others and your present circumstances. And yes one of my intentions for 2019 is creating balance for myself. Create a healthy balance between home and work by integrating the two and finding my alignment.
Where can I direct my energy, my focus, best in 2019?
Four of Pentacles speaks of attachment to material possessions and pursuits. And ‘funny’ that this cards pops up as I have recently received a healing of poverty in my family lineage going back as far as twelve generations. This cards asks me to examine my relationship with money. And yes I have been pondering this lately. About my home, should I invest in making it more comfortable by getting double glazing and heating installed. But every time I think of the amount of money that costs, I just go into this deep fear. On the other hand I feel that I am worth this investment so I don’t have to be so cold every winter. And that is with everything that costs money, I go into fear and regret when I spend it. My budget is so restricted that it cuts out many of life’s pleasures and comforts. It is so deeply engrained in me. But no more stating this in the present. This was deeply ingrained in me, no more. I am abundant, I am balanced. I spend my money wisely and with love. I have made an investment plan and am aiming to make that work. If all goes well I will be able to afford double glazing and heating in 5 years time. So now I need to focus on abundance and let go of scarcity. This no longer suits me. Let it flow!
The second card to focus on in 2019 is the Ten of Pentacles (another pentacles) and this asks me to honor my roots and the unique life I live. This card was this year’s Christmas and New Year’s card I made. What a ‘coincidence’!! This is a reminder that I have everything I need, all is within me and I have build a lasting foundation for success. I am asked to share my success with others and it also shows the importance of family. It reminds me that I am part of a lineage, of a tradition and that I have the power to heal scarcity and lack for myself and my ancestors. I can now take my place and become a strong branch on the family tree, no longer hiding behind the leaves.
What are the tools and resources I can use this year?
King of Wands and this King is self confident and is daring in his expression. So yes show up authentically and strong. Again this connects to my intentions of 2019. Inner strength and personal freedom. I need to commit and lead your life with intent, vision and a long-term view. Be very clear about the direction I want to follow and not waste time on activities or relationships that will lead me nowhere. I am here to leave a legacy.
And so it is!
Wooha!
